In order to be admitted to the MBL-FU program, you must meet the following requirements:

(1) University degree of at least four years (equivalent to 240 ECTS credits)

Please be advised that your chances are best if you hold a law degree that is comparable to the German “first state examination” pursuant to the German Law on the Judiciary ("Deutsches Richtergesetz"). However, we are open to graduates of other fields of study. If you are not a lawyer, your chances are higher if you can prove familiarity with disciplines that bear some connection to the foci of our program.

Please note that all documents issued by academic institutions in China, India and Vietnam must be APS-certified.

(2) Postgraduate work experience of no less than one year

We acknowledge all kinds of professional experience, including internships, as long you performed the work after you completed your first university degree. Your experience is especially valuable to us if it is related to the subject areas of our program.

(3) English language proficiency (of at least B2 CEFR)

We accept all standardized English language tests (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, ESOL, Cambridge English) that can be translated into the CEFR score. Compare scores to CEFR can be found here. You are exempted from this requirement if you obtained your university education entirely in English. Please present proof thereof when you apply. You do not need to know German to be admitted.
