Lawyer Dr. Oehmichen, born in Tübingen in 1979, studied at the Universities of Trier and Alcalá de Henares (Spain) and obtained her doctorate in international comparative criminal law on anti-terrorism legislation from Leiden University in the Netherlands. She completed a legal clerkship at the International Criminal Court and a traineeship at Europol in The Hague. She spent her legal clerkship at a Belgian criminal defense law firm, an international commercial law firm, and the German Foreign Office, among others. In the following years, Dr. Oehmichen worked as a researcher at the Central Office for Criminology, the National Agency for the Prevention of Torture, and the Chair of German, European, and International Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, Economic Criminal Law, and Environmental Criminal Law of Prof. Dr. Thomas Rotsch in Giessen. She has been admitted to the bar in October 2011 and has been on the lists of lawyers of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague since 2020. Before founding her own law firm, Oehmichen International, in Berlin in October 2021, with a special international focus, she worked for ten years in a boutique law firm in Mainz specializing in economic and tax criminal law, including 5 years as a partner. Since 2018, she has been responsible for the conference and content management of the EU Strafrechtstag in Bonn, organized by the NRW Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and is a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the German Bar Association (DAV), a member of the European Committee of the DAV, the Legal Expert Advisory Panel (LEAP) of Fair Trials International, the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), and Lawyers Against Transnational Repression.
