Call for Applications: Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court 2026/27

Du interessiert dich für völkerrechtliche Themen und hast Lust dich intensiv und praktisch im Rahmen eines fiktiven Verfahren vor dem Internationalen Gerichtshof mit Völkerrecht auseinander zu setzen? 

You are interested in international law issues and would you like to deal with international law intensively and practically within the framework of a fictitious procedure before the International Court of Justice?

Alle Studierenden der Rechtswissenschaften sind herzlich eingeladen, sich für das FU-Team des Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court zu bewerben. Im Rahmen des Wettbewerbs werdet Ihr Euch mit einem spannenden und komplexen völkerrechtlichen Fall befassen. Die diesjährigen Themen sind

  • Vorwürfe der Geschlechterapartheid,
  • staatliche Reaktionen auf einen massiven Zustrom von Asylsuchenden,
  • durch künstliche Intelligenz generierte Sanktionslisten und
  • all dies vor dem Hintergrund eines Coup d’Etat, der zu einer Regierung geführt hat, deren Status innerhalb der internationalen Gemeinschaft weiterhin umstritten ist.

Bewerbungen können bis zum 28. Juni 2026 per E-Mail bei Leonora Erhardt (l.erhardt@fu-berlin.de) eingereicht werden. Genauere Informationen zum Bewerbungsablauf und den Voraussetzungen findest Du hier.

Eine gemeinsame Informationsveranstaltung für alle völkerrechtlichen Moot Courts an der FU findet im Hörsaal III am 9. Juni von 12:30 bis 14:00 Uhr statt. Schaut gerne vorbei.

All students are warmly invited to apply to join the FU team for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court. As part of the competition, you will be dealing with an exciting and complex case in international law. This year’s topics are

  • allegations of gender apartheid,
  • State responses to a mass influx of migrants seeking asylum;
  • sanction designations generated by artificial intelligence,
  • and all of this in the wake of a coup d’etat, resulting in a government whose status within the international community remains contested

Applications can be submitted by email to Leonora Erhardt (l.erhardt@fu-berlin.de) until 28th of June 2026. More detailed information on the application procedure and criteria can be found here.

A joint information session for all international law moot courts at the FU will take place in Hörsaal III on 9 June from 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm. Please feel free to drop by.
