Valentina Turrini is visiting researcher at the Chair of Public Law and International Law (Prof. Dr. Helmut Aust) in the Departement of Law at Freie Universtität Berlin since April 2026.

Valentina is a PhD candidate in Sustainable Development and Climate Change at the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia, Italy. In her doctoral dissertation project, she is focusing on the correlation between subnational authorities and international law in the context of climate change. Moreover, she is collaborating with the department of Sustainable Development and Decision Support Systems of the Metropolitan City of Milan, Italy.

Previously, she studied law, with a dissertation in Comparative Legal Systems, at Università degli studi di Trieste, Italy and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universtät München, Germany.

Valentina Turrini ist seit April 2026 Gastwissenschaftlerin an der Professur für Öffentliches Recht und die Internationalisierung der Rechtsordnung (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Helmut Aust) am Fachbereich Rechtswissenschaft der Freien Universität Berlin.

Valentina ist Doktorandin in Sustainable Development and Climate Change (Nachhaltige Entwicklung und Klimawandel) an der University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia in Italien. In ihrer Doktorarbeit befasst sie sich mit dem Zusammenhang zwischen subnationalen Behörden und dem Völkerrecht im Kontext des Klimawandels. Darüber hinaus arbeitet sie mit der Abteilung für nachhaltige Entwicklung und Entscheidungsunterstützungssysteme der Metropolitanstadt Mailand in Italien zusammen.

Zuvor studierte sie Rechtswissenschaften mit einer Abschlussarbeit im Fach Vergleichende Rechtssysteme an der Università degli studi di Trieste, Italien, und an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
