In order to be admitted to the MBL-FU programme, you must meet the following requirements.
- University degree of at least four years (equivalent to 240 ECTS credits)
No minimum grade is required for admission. Please be advised that we preferably admit lawyers with a first law degree comparable to the German first legal state examination pursuant to the German Law on the Judiciary ("Deutsches Richtergesetz"). However, we do not exclude graduates of other fields of study from our admission process. In these cases, applications attesting familiarity and experience with disciplines related to the foci of our programme such as telecommunication and energy law are prioritized.
- Postgraduate work experience of no less than one year
We accept all kinds of professional experience, internships included, as long as these job activities were performed after the completion of the first university degree. Work experiences in the subject areas of our programme are given priority in the admission procedure.
- English language proficiency (of at least B2 CEFR)
We accept all standardized English language tests (e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, ESOL, Cambridge English) that are transferable to the CEFR score. Compare Scores to CEFR can be found online. Applicants may be exempted from this requirement if their prior university education was conducted entirely in English. Proof thereof must be presented with the application. No knowledge of the German language is required for admission
Please see Application Procedure to get information about the documents you are requested to submit for your application.
