Key issues: Energy law, goals of energy policy, incentive regulation (including renewable energy)

The students deepen their knowledge acquired during the module “Fundamentals of Regulatory Law” with the legal and technical aspects of energy law, which is studied in an International, European and German perspectives. They are able to directly apply this special knowledge in proceedings, opinions and decision-making. The rules on international energy trade, energy contracts, the liberalization and the rules governing the “European internal energy market”, unbundling schemes, promotion of renewable sources within the EU and internationally, investment protection in the energy sector are some of the topics covered.
