International Law and the Reordering of the World

The international order is undergoing radical change. Geopolitical shifts, the rise of authoritarian states and movements, and the breaching of planetary boundaries are challenging ideas of international order. Questions as to how the ensuring turbulences and ambivalences affect conceptions of legal and world ordering and what functions law performs in a changing international order are examined in one of the Institute's main research areas.
