A particular focus of the academic work at the Institute is the examination of the interface between foreign relations law and international and European law. The reception of international and European law is analysed both for the German legal system and in comparative terms. The challenges arising from the increasing informalisation of the international legal order and the increasing role of non-binding agreements are also reflected in the research.
