Since 2014 Jonas von Kalben is a doctoral candidate at the FU Berlin and works as a research assistant to Prof. Schweitzer, LL.M. (Yale). His research focuses on competition law enforcement in the EU and, more specifically, on commitment procedures and policies of the EU Commission and national competition authorities.
He is a graduate of the European University Institute’s LL.M.-Programme in Comparative, European and International Laws. From 2007 to 2012 he studied law at the Bucerius Law School (Hamburg) and the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, (Buenos Aires, ARG).
Jonas von Kalben has worked as a research assistant to prof. Monti at the EUI, to Prof. Schweitzer, LL.M. (Yale) at the University of Mannheim and to Prof. Mestmäcker at the MPI in Hamburg. He has also worked as an intern and as a research assistant for several international law firms (White & Case in Hamburg, King & Spalding in NYC (USA), Freshfields Bruckhaus Dehringer in London (UK), Gleiss Lutz in Hamburg) and as a student assistant to prof. König, M.C.L. and to prof. Kämmerer at the Bucerius Law School.
From 2006 to 2007 he volunteered for Action Reconciliation Service for Peace in Philadelphia (USA).
