Andreas Schuessel studied law at the University of Bayreuth from 2005-2012. He focused on IP and Competition Law, as well as Economics and Business Management. During his studies he was awarded a scholarship by the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation. In 2009 he earned an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham (UK). After completing his law degree in 2012, he worked with the Antitrust department of an international law firm in Brussels (Belgium). During his legal traineeship in Berlin, he clerked with the German National Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt), the Charlottenburg District Court, the Berlin District Attorney as well as international law firms in Berlin and Munich.
Before joining the Freie Universität Berlin as a research fellow to Prof. Dr. Heike Schweitzer, he worked with the Competition Law department of an international law firm in Berlin. His research focuses on the application of European Competition Law to marketing strategies in the pharmaceutical industry.
