Cynical International Law?

The Working Group of Young Scholars in Public International Law (Arbeitskreis junger Völkerrechtswissenschaftler*innen – AjV) and the German Society of International Law (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationales Recht – DGIR) are organizing a joint conference at Freie Universität Berlin, on 6-7 September 2019, on the topic of

Cynical International Law?

Abuse and Circumvention in Public and Private International law, as well as European Law

The conference's concept is specifically designed to enable an exchange between younger and more established academics and practitioners.

The conference is dedicated to a highly topical issue: the cynicism which finds expression, inter alia, in the abuse and circumvention of international and European law. Professor Gerry Simpson (LSE) will introduce this topic with a keynote speech. The Völkerrechtsblog will accompany the conference online.

The organizers invite submissions of abstracts from all areas of public and private international law as well as European law by 31 January 2019 (Call for Papers: Deutsch | English).

The program and registration for the conference will be activated after the selection of the speakers.

The organizers would like to express their gratitude to the sponsors of the conference. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the organizers.
